Traditional acupuncture stimulates your own healing responses improving energy levels – enhancing body, mind and spirit as a whole.

Traditional Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an evidence based therapy of natural healing, offering a holistic approach to treatment that has been developed and refined over 2,000 years. Holistic means that your body, mind and spirit are all engaged, as the acupuncture re-establishes your energy balance along the meridians (pathways of energy that run through your body).

Treatments are designed around you as an individual, with emphasis on identifying the root cause of a condition while also enhancing your general wellbeing.

There are many ailments for which it can be effective, including:

  • - Allergies, asthma, hay fever
  • - Pregnancy discomforts, morning sickness, labour induction
  • - Anxiety, depression
  • - Skin conditions (such as acne, eczema, psoriasis)
  • - Digestive disorders (such as IBS, Ulcerative Colitis)
  • - Stress

Acupuncturist

Vida Woods

BSc (Hons) Acupuncture, Dip Paed Ac, Lic Ac, MBAcC

Vida has been an acupuncturist for over ten years, graduating with a 1st degree from one of the top acupuncture institutions in Europe.  She uses many modalities including 5 Element, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shonishin (Japanese needle-free technique for children).

Vida completed a diploma in paediatric acupuncture and regularly partakes in professional development in her speciality of treating babies, children and teens.  This form of medicine supports wellbeing, treats acute and chronic conditions; can be used alongside conventional medicine and helps to restore balance.

Vida also treats individuals going through infertility challenges and during pregnancy.

Forming a bond with the mother is a lovely way to start a child’s acupuncture journey, as there is already that much needed element of trust.   The word “needles” can put parents off immediately however, Vida uses a large variety of needle free techniques.  Treatment focus on the whole child, not just their symptoms and each session is specifically tailored to suit their needs at that time.

Vida has her own experience of being mum to a child with a chronic condition that can also become acute without notice.   Acupuncture has helped her son immeasurably and she knows with certainty that he wouldn’t be the person he is today without it.  Vida is here to listen to you as a parent as well, to be that support as you ride the waves.

More

Vida is more than happy to have a chat to see whether acupuncture is the right choice for your child.  No question is too silly or small, she’d love to hear from you!

Vida is passionate about this effective, natural form of healthcare for babies, children and teens.  She sees it strengthen, support and nurture them – giving them the best chance to grow into the individuals they want to be.

Jayne Whitelock

Lic. Ac. DipPaed, DipObsGyn, DipTuina MAAC BSc (Hons) Acupuncture BSc (Hons) Psychology

Jayne is a fully qualified Acupuncturist with a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture from the highly respected College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. She decided to retrain in acupuncture after spending much of her career as a TV producer specialising in medical programming. With a lifelong interest in health, Jayne’s introduction to acupuncture began when she was pregnant with her son who was breech. With just one session he turned and was born safely at home. From then on, she was fascinated by this holistic treatment that can transform our energy and our health.

Jayne uses a combined form of acupuncture – Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine. This allows many different conditions to be addressed, including emotional issues which she is particularly interested in – her first degree being in Psychology. Jayne is passionate about the power of acupuncture, as a treatment from conception to adulthood. She has a special interest in treating infertility, and holds diplomas in Gynaecology and Obstetrics as well as Paediatric acupuncture. Learning non needling techniques to treat children also led her to explore the power of touch in Chinese Medicine and she now holds a diploma in Chinese Medical Massage known as Tuina.

Jayne is a member of one of the main professional bodies, the Association of Clinical Acupuncturists, which only accepts members who are trained to a minimum of degree level.

Rachel Churchill-Coleman

Lic Ac, MBAcC, BSc (Hons) Acupuncture

Rachel is a licensed acupuncturist, holding a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, where she trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element acupuncture.

She is passionate about helping people feel better – in both body and mind – and approaches every treatment with care and compassion as well as complete professionalism.  As a nurturing and attentive practitioner, she feels there is no greater privilege than being entrusted to help someone improve their health and wellbeing.  Whether supporting someone by reducing their pain, restoring energy levels or navigating emotional challenges, her aim is always to provide thoughtful, gentle and individualised care in a calm, safe environment.

She first fell in love with acupuncture when she had an accident 25 years ago, and discovered the palpable relief it could give from back pain, and then again when it helped her to conceive after several years of ‘unexplained’ infertility.  More recently it has helped her transition through perimenopause and reduce the severity and frequency of both night sweats and migraines brought on by hormonal changes.

Rachel is registered with the British Acupuncture Council and committed to the highest standards of safe, ethical and effective practice.

If you’re wondering how acupuncture could help you or have any questions about what to expect prior to booking, Rachel is very happy to have a no-obligation chat, so please get in touch.

Rachel uses acupuncture to help you feel better in both body and mind, whether that’s easing pain, restoring energy, or navigating life’s hormonal shifts with gentle, individualised care.
